Balance

Print, Sep/Oct 2000, pg 88

Balance refers to the distribution of weight or force within a composition. Shapes in the picture work together to create an even composition.

This photo shows balance in a few different ways. The woman's round face and the cucumbers on her eyes show radial symmetry. The artist uses a green color scheme that feels neutral and balanced throughout the picture. The picture doesn't quite have symmetrical balance because of the seeds in the cucumber, but it does show approximate symmetry.

Color Discord

This floral design lacks the use of color scheme and color theory. I chose to use this floral print because although it does not have a single color scheme, it is still a good, bright, and colorful design.

Creativity

In the design, the artist used the same font and design scheme to create the message below the parking spot. The message itself is what makes the design creative and powerful. Without the message this would be an ordinary picture of a handicapped parking spot.

Color Harmony

Analogous Color Scheme An analogous color scheme is the use of colors adjacent to each other on the color wheel. Different shades of blue, blue-green, and green, along with some neutral tones, are used in this design.
